Breakfast Clubs

For the last 10 years Greggs Breakfast Clubs have given disadvantaged primary school children across the country a great start to the day by providing them with a free, nutritious breakfast.

The Greggs Breakfast Clubs programme was started in 2000 with the aim of providing a free, nutritious breakfast for primary school children in areas of particular social disadvantage. The supply of fresh bread and funding for cereals, spreads, fruit, yoghurt and milk has contributed to improved attendance, classroom performance and also strengthened the relationship between the schools and their local community.

The Greggs Breakfast Clubs provide a great start to the day to pupils in 136 schools and, by working in partnership with other companies, we hope this number will increase significantly over the next few years.

Greggs Breakfast Clubs are free of charge, both to the school and to the pupils that benefit from them. This is delivered through funding and the supply of fresh bread from Greggs. A vital element in the success of the clubs are the volunteer groups from the school community who serve the food and run the clubs. Comprised of parents and grandparents, the efforts of these volunteers is crucial to the success of the Greggs Breakfast Club.

The Greggs Breakfast Clubs enable primary school pupils up and down the country to enjoy a fun and healthy start to the day.
