Q. How old do I need to be to work for you?

Over 16 and you need to have finished year 11 at school.

Q. Can I train to be a baker?

Yes – we are always interested to meeting possible trainees and we also run apprenticeship schemes throughout the company.

Q. How do I get a job in management?

From time to time we have opportunities in the following areas:-
Food/Health and Safety, Finance, Human Resources, IT, Regional Manager,Catering/Sandwich Development.

Q. I am a student and am looking for a weekend job while I am at college. But I would like to work in the holidays closer to my home, is this possible?

Yes in most cases, we look to accommodate college and holiday work locations where possible.

Q. Do you have summer and Christmas holiday jobs available?

We are always looking for enthusiastic individuals to work in our shops and bakeries over the holiday periods. You should contact your nearest division for details.

Q. What benefits do you offer your staff?

Profit share, staff discount, group life assurance, pension scheme, holidays, sick pay, save as you earn scheme (after 1 year), staff uniform.

Q. Will I receive any training?

The simple answer to the question is yes. We passionately believe in the training and development of all our staff.

Q. Can I apply for more than one position?

Yes, but although the selection criteria may be similar, most positions are very different. Please think about the type of job that will suit you best, and only apply for appropriate vacancies.

Q. What documentation will I need to bring to the interview?

Full birth certificate with proof of National insurance number or passport and a work permit(if you are required by law to have one.)

Q. What can I expect in an interview?

We have a structured interview process. This may have more than one stage depending upon the position you are applying for. The interviewer will ask you a range of questions relating to your technical knowledge, your competencies and how you would fit into our business, in line with the company values.

Q. If my application is unsuccessful, can I request feedback?

We will be pleased to give you feedback on why you were not selected for the position you applied for.
