A huge well done to our Greggs Fuelling Greatness volunteer winners!
We’ve provided a tasty lunch to the AJ Bell Great North Run volunteers for four years running.
This year, we wanted to again celebrate the amazing volunteers who give up their time to make sure the events happen seamlessly.
So, a few weeks ago, we enlisted your help to find the most inspiring volunteer stories to help us choose two Fuelling Greatness Volunteer winners.
We’re proud to announce, we’ve chosen two fantastic winners to be recognised for their hard work and receive a Greggs £50 High Roller Gift Card.
The winners are (drum roll please) …
Carole Heppel from South Shields
Carole first volunteered for the Great North Run through her Cub Scout group, the Durham Country Club Scouts. She has been a volunteer for over 30 years, having worked at 35 races in total and was inducted into the Great North Run Hall of Fame in 2011.
Tara Rutherford from Sunderland
Tara has been a volunteer for the Great Run for over 20 years, giving runners those all-important goody bags at the finish line. Tara also took part in the race herself after being inspired by seeing people cross the finish line.
A huge thank you to our two worthy winners, as well as all the other volunteers who selflessly give up their time for a fantastic cause.
